Tell us a little about yourself and your everyday life as a parent.

I work as a freelance photographer and used to be a musician, so creativity plays a big role in our everyday life. To me, it is important to create space for play, curiosity, and spontaneity. I love playing and entering imaginative worlds together with the children, so we try to create an environment where small everyday adventures can unfold naturally.

We live in a co-housing community in Lejre, close to nature, and that truly shapes the way we live as a family. Our days do not need to be planned down to the smallest detail. Sometimes the best thing is simply to head outside and see what we discover along the way.

What's keeping you busy these days?

Nature fills a lot in our lives right now. We try to teach our children to stay curious about it and to understand that we are part of it. It can be very small things, like standing in the garden watching the birds and learning about the different species. It is actually quite amazing how much calmness and fascination there can be in something so simple.

We spend a lot of time outdoors in general, and that is often where the best moments happen.

What is your favourite place to go with children?

We live close to an old stream, which is a wonderful place to go exploring with the children. There is always something to discover or investigate, and it almost feels like a little world of its own.

But if the adventure also calls for a good juice and a cardamom bun, we often visit Hegnsholt, the local farm here in Lejre. It is one of those places where both children and adults instantly feel at ease.

Do you remember your children's first steps?

Absolutely. I was home alone with Kaja when she took her first steps, and I could hardly wait for Julie to come home so she could experience it too. It was such a special moment.

And now our youngest, Nana, has just taken her first steps as well, and the excitement and joy felt exactly the same all over again. It is quite incredible how moments like that can feel just as magical every single time.

What matters most to you when choosing shoes for Kaja and Nana?

Our oldest attends a kindergarten where the children spend most of the day outdoors, so it matters a lot that the shoes are high quality and able to withstand all kinds of weather and plenty of movement.

And now that Nana has just started walking, it is equally important that her shoes provide good support and comfort. Right now, she wants to walk all the time, so the shoes really need to support both her curiosity and movement.

What does Bundgaard mean to you?

To me, everything ties quite naturally into what Bundgaard stands for. I know we are getting something reliable and well made. Something created with a focus on quality, comfort, and children’s freedom of movement. And that means a lot in a family like ours, where the children are moving almost all the time.
