Tell us a little about yourselves and your everyday life as parents.
We moved from an apartment in Østerbro, Copenhagen, to a house in Hvidovre, a suburb of Copenhagen, back in November. A change that has had a great impact on our daily lives. Where life before felt close and compact, we now have completely new surroundings. We have especially been looking forward to spring, when the garden can really be used and everyday life moves outdoors.
The garden has quickly become a natural gathering place for us. It serves as a playground, a place to unwind, and somewhere we can spend time together in a playful and relaxed way. There are always small projects going on, something to plant, tidy up or simply explore, and there is a special satisfaction in creating something together as a family. With the brighter days, we notice how we automatically spend more time outside, and it brings both calm and renewed energy to our everyday lives.
At the same time, we have been fortunate that our work is still close by. We both only have a short bike ride, which makes a big difference in a busy daily routine. It means that even on busy days, we can still get home early enough to spend a few valuable hours together, often outside, before the evening sets in.
We are expecting our second child and are generally at a stage in life where we reflect a lot on the framework of our family life. That is why it feels completely right that this is where our children will grow up. Here there is room for play, closeness and development, and for creating the small everyday moments that we know will mean the most.
What's keeping you busy these days?
Right now, the garden takes up a big part of our everyday life. We are in the process of creating a setting that encourages a more active outdoor life, with space for a kitchen garden, a greenhouse, and cooking under the open sky. It is a process that is taking shape little by little, and it gives us the opportunity to reflect on how we would like to spend our time together as a family.
At the same time, it is important for us to create a place where our daughter can move freely, play and explore at her own pace. We see how she is already making the garden her own in her own way and quickly immersing herself in her imagination, and it brings us a special joy to watch. It is exactly these simple everyday moments, when we are outside together, that mean so much to us right now and give us a sense of peace and presence.
What matters most to you when choosing shoes for Viviane?
Comfort and fit are essential. At the same time, we place great importance on design and materials. It matters to us to choose a brand we know and trust, where quality and care are a natural part of the product.
Luckily, function and aesthetics can go hand in hand.
What does Bundgaard mean to you?
When we were choosing for Viviane's first shoes, Bundgaard was recommended to us by many. Here we found a natural balance between comfort and design.
As a child, I remember a pair of red boots from Bundgaard. Today, it is Viviane who refuses to take off her red Bundgaard shoes.
