All our sandals have a natural fit that gives your child's feet the best conditions for movement and development. For example, several of our models have Velcro closures around the foot and ankle, allowing you to adjust the sandal precisely to your child's foot.

Choose the right size
On our website you'll find a size guide on how to find the right size children's sandal for your child. Under each of our sandals you'll find the inner measurements of the shoe, which you can compare with the length and width of your child's foot. However, a few rules of thumb are to always go up a size if your child is in between two sizes. It's also a good idea to have a 1-1.5 cm growth allowance on your child's shoes depending on their age. That way, your child has freedom of movement, the opportunity to develop and it's a more economical solution for you. The sandal should fit snugly around the heel so that the foot does not slip out of the sandal. The sandals should provide the correct support and not be too tight, as this can damage your child's foot. Sandals shouldn't be too loose either, as they can wear and chafe and affect your child's natural movement. Make sure the sandal is made of breathable materials to avoid hot and sweaty feet. There are several different factors that play a role in determining when your child should wear sandals. The most natural factor is of course the weather and heat. To avoid discomfort, it's best to put sandals on your child when the temperature is above 15 degrees. It's a good idea to start wearing socks in sandals when the temperature is below 20 degrees. This will provide a good fit and make the transition from shoes to sandals comfortable. When the temperature is above 20 degrees, the child can easily wear bare toes in the sandals. When it comes to age, there are different things you need to be aware of.
Beginner sandals for the very young
If your child is between 0-2 years old, make sure the sandal has a firm heel cup that provides good support for the foot. Sandals for toddlers should have a slightly higher heel cup so your child can take their first steps safely. Sandals should fit snugly around the ankle so the foot doesn't swell and have a closed toe for protection. Beginner sandals should not be bought with too much growth allowance, as the most important thing at this stage is that your child has a safe experience while learning to walk.
Closed sandals for older children
Sandals for younger children should also preferably have a firm heel cup that fits snugly around the heel to give your child the ultimate support. At this age, it's still a good idea to have a closed toe to protect your child's toes.
Open sandals for older kids
As your child gets a little bigger and more sure-footed, you can opt for an open sandal. However, it's still a good idea to choose a closed heel cap for your child aged 4-7 for extra protection and support. The sandal should fit snugly around the heel and ankle so your child can run and play freely. Depending on your child's activity level and temperament, you can choose a closed toe to protect your child's toes.
